In the English Alphabet the letter ‘o’ is the fourth most frequently used letter. The letter ‘o’ is also used in a variety of ways. The ‘o’ can make long and short kinds of sounds. For example; the ‘o’ in the word ‘dog’ has a short sound and the ‘o’ in the word ‘toe’ has a long sound.

Oats (especially rolled oats) are used for making porridge, most of the time.

Yummy oats for breakfast…

rolled oats

Oats can be used (cooked, rolled or raw) in lots of things. I can’t eat oats because I’ve got coeliac disease. They are glutenous. I can’t eat barley, rye, oats or wheat and any other product that contains gluten. Instead of having oats, I have rice flakes. Rice flakes are just like oats except they taste a bit different.

Do you like the taste of oats??
